As of today’s announcement at the RSGB AGM, the embargo has been lifted and I can announce that my Field Spotter web app was the winner of the RSGB Construction Competition 2025!

After his success last year with the UK Portable Ham Map, Steve M1SDH encouraged me to submit Field Spotter for this year’s competition. I wasn’t sure another web app would do particularly well, but I thought I’d give it a shot anyway.

It turns out it was a shoe-in for the Software category of the competition, because no-one else entered it!

But despite stiff competition from some great-looking antennas and a very neat WSPR beacon, Field Spotter was somehow voted the overall winner and recipient of the Pat Hawker G3VA award.
