  • Jewel-Studded Dreams

The dream I just had… it’s a rare thing, these days, to have a dream with a proper story - a beginning, a middle, and an end. Well worth staying in bed for an extra 3 hours for! ^_^ Of course, memories of dreams fade fast, and I can’t remember much of the story any more. But the end… the final, enduring image of the dream… Two young people, one male one female, dressed in armour made entirely of multicoloured fist-sized gemstones etched with gold… Holding similarly gem-studded swords… Whilst standing on the kind of beach you see in adverts for Caribbean holidays, just staring out to sea. And the sense of completion, that everything had a happy ending…

I woke up inspired to write more of Dreaming Awake, but in the end, all I wrote was a LiveJournal entry and yet more introduction to the story. But I think I was inspired to change the way the structure of the book works. I think I want to try it with the occasional piece of narration between the chapters, which steadily gets more and more important and intrusive right up to the cataclysm at the end, where you finally realise that the narration is done by Ian/Tsuki, in the brief moment of transcendence…

  • Merry Christmasu!

    Merry Christmas everyone!

(Wow, that was a lot of HTML tags for just one sen

tence.) Anyways, w00tage! It’s Christmas! I’m now the new owner of aawesomely shiny digital radio, a really nice pair of boots, a couple of books, and an electronic toy dragon thingy (yes, I’m 18 going on 5 ^_^), and a stomach full of turkey and all the rest! Mmm, good day~su… It was good to see my grandparents (dad’s side) too - my Grandad’s just finished a five-week stay in hospital, and still doesn’t look that well, but it was good to see him anyway!

More of the same tomorrow when I go off to visit the other half of my family! My parents are being boring and not coming =P but I’m going anyway. More turkey, mmm…

I hope everyone else is enjoying Christmas too!

(I should really start doing some work someday soon, I’ve got loads to do. Erk! That isn’t something I should be thinking about on Christmas day.) I’m off to try and find something decent to watch on telly. Mata ne~!

  • Woo, I suck.

I am the master of suckage. It seems, this year, I’m forgetting everything… I forgot Mothers’ Day, my mum’s birthday, five family birthdays, and I nearly screwed up Christmas too… I forgot to get my parents a card, and I managed to leave it until today to get my mum a present. Unfortunately all the things she actually wanted for Christmas I couldn’t find anywhere, so I just bought the nicest-looking box of chocolates I could find… I hope it’s gonna be okay… Well, I s’pose I’ll find out tomorrow morning…

And, it looks like I’m about to go down the pub with Adam… not sure if my parents thought we’d have a family evening in or not, but… eh…

I wonder, am I a lot more stupid than most people? Not in pure intelligence, I mean, but… do most people forget important things and screw up as much as me…?

  • Dentistfun

Eeek, dental agony funtime! My teeth are apparently fine, but my dentist still insisted on descaling them with a big metal spike, and yanking hard at my teeth with said implement. Oww~su…

  • DDRUK Meetfun!

w00t! I am t3h enjoy! It was great to meet everyone, finally… and yeah, those “dance machine” things were quite good too =p I’ve got some pictures, but unfortunately my camera sucks. I guess other peoples’ pics will be appearing on the DDRFUK Boards soon enough!

Also, an apology is due to Frieza, who had not t3h fun for some of the time, especially a two hour train journey on his own because the rest of the Bournemouth people stayed later. Sorry…

  • Time and Money (and the lack thereof)

Eeek… too little time to do anything, because I spend too much of it sleeping or just doing nothing… And too little money, although I continue to spend it anyway…

    Well, tomorrow I should be meeting up with Adam in town, going shopping and having some BemaniFun, Saturday’s the DDRUK meet, Sunday apparently I’m being dragged off to church in the morning (I know not why…) and then going to see a band playing in a pub somewhere in the evening, with Elise and Adam and hopefully Ant too. Ehh, there’s so much stuff… ^_^;

  • What is home...?

Well, yesterday I moved back to my parents’ house for three weeks for Chrsitmas! It was kinda’ sad to say goodbye to people there for three weeks, but it’ll be good to see everyone from Bournemouth again. I just wished they’d come home sooner, I think Dom and Adam are back on Thursday and Ant next weekend. In the meantime, I’m not having much to do, but I guess it’s okay to take it easy for a while. I’ve got lots of revision I could be doing (exams in January, eek!) and lots of games I could be playing now I’m back at home with a PS2 and a TV… But for a few days, I think I’ll just relax.

It seems most of my family are having problems of some sort… by Grandad (dad’s side) is continually in hospital at the moment, so my parents are helping to run my Grandma’s life for her ^_^ My Nan’s in and out of hospital too, but I haven’t heard much so I guess she’s coping fine.

Also, I’m back on my parent’s 56k dialup connection, so I won’t be online much… I’ll probably take a step back from IRC and the Anime-England and DDRFUK forums for a while, since I don’t really want to be up until 2am using the ‘net here as well as when I’m at Uni - Christmas is for eating, drinking, being merry, and being a lazy bastard! ^_^

  • People are too Complicated

Today has been a very odd day…

It started all normal and Friday-like, expect that I forgot to set my alarm so I didn’t make it in in time for my maths lecture… I made it for the end though so I could hand in this week’s problem sheets and get my soursework mark back - a disappointing 62%. James and I left Electronics labs early, and went for a few pints and plates of chips in the Stile (the pub next to the campus) to celebrate the end of term. Then I got back to the flat, and my flatmates had cooked an awesomely delicious roast dinner, accompanied by much alcohol, just in case I hadn’t had enough already.

Then things took a turn for the more odd, when we tried to go to the Academy (a club just down the road). The queue was massive, so we decided not to bother… but Vicky and Jo queue-jumped with some guys they knew. The rest of us stood outside in the rain for 15 minutes or so, whilst Vicky and Jo decided whether to stay there or not. After we all decided to leave, we went to Bedfords’ for a quick drink then on to Yates’s, which was actually really fun! It really picked us up from the depressed mood we were in before.

Once we left there, emotional turmoil broke out in our flat… A guy showed up (first impression: he’s a twat) and seemed to cause Vicky and Jo to start arguing with each other, and all sorts of overly-emotional things happening all night. I think most people are too complicated… I try to be honest all the time, and the “me” people know really is the real me - there’s not a lot deeper you can really go. But a lot of people, especially spurred on by alcohol, aren’t like that, I guess…

Anyway~su, this is now officially m first 12-hour stright drinking session! I started at 4.30pm, and it’s now after 4.30am and I’m still drinking!

Oh, and I have to be up by early afternoon to meet my dad, who’s bringing me and all my junk back from Uni for the holidays… I guess I should probably be sober and not hung over when he arrives…

  • One day to go...

    One problem sheet question…

    Three lectures…

    Three hours of labs…

That’s all there is left of this term! Woohoo!!! Even though I’ve gotta do that question tonight, and I’ve got no food defrosted for dinner, I’m still happy!

  • Five Hours' Sleep

Well, I’ve got a fun five hours’ sleep ahead of me before my only compulsory bit of the week, my Physics tutorial! Woohoo, what fun!

Anyway~su, it was the Gateley & Romero Halls’ Christmas Party tonight… erm… “party” in the oddest sense of the word. We were given “free entry” tickets to Walkabout’s in town. Unfortunately, there isn’t actually a charge to get in normally, the place is as atmosphere-less as the surface of Pluto, and the drinks are three times a sane price. After we got extremely bored of the place, we went to Ikon by taxi (costing >= £2 each), then looked at the queue, decided we couldn’t be bothered, then got another taxi straight back home again (another >= £2).

After that, things started looking up as we invited some friends over, drank some more and played Twister. And now, I’ve gotta try and sober up, go to bed, and arrive at Uni tomorrow without a hangover. Hmm… This’ll be fun!
